Mercy Trumps Justice

God's word says, do justly, seek mercy, and walk humbly with God, Micah 6:8. Amen, amen, amen. I love this verse. What I love more is the grace given to us thru the blood of Christ and to quote a friend of mine, Jodi Z., mercy trumps justice. God, being omniscient, knew we couldn't follow his way, so he had mercy on us putting our punishment on his son and this redeemed us to him. Now, he is able to have a relationship with us without having to look on sin and he doesn't look on sin.

We should try to do justly, not sinning should be a way of life, if we do it's covered, but don't take advantage of his grace.

Always love mercy, share it with everyone. Forgive people, regardless of what they've done to us or what they owe us.

Walk humbly with God. Spend more time before his throne; eager to hear him, to find out what he wants of us. To who we should minister, how to show love and mercy and who to.

Father, you are beautiful. Your ways are beautiful, your mercy is beautiful, and we love you for this. We are able to tell you we love you, because thru Jesus we can have a face to face relationship with you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

A Light To My Path

I was driving down the road one day and the sun was in my face. This brought to mind the relationship we have, or should have, with Jesus. He is ever before our face, but whether or not we look to him or seek him, is up to us. It's a moment by moment choice we make everyday. Know that every thought we have is either from the Lord, from the enemy, or from our carnal mind. Our carnal mind is what we inherited from Adam and isn't surrendered to Christ.

2 Cor tells us of the weapons we have and how to use them. We're to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Simply put, any thought that justifies sin, isn't of God and should be rebuked. These thoughts cause us to look away from God. Through salvation, we have authority over the enemy and are called to walk in it, rebuking every evil thought and casting down every evil spirit.

2Cor 10:3-5 (AKJV)
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

We need the sun's light to see, but when it's in our eyes, we consider it a nuisance. We want the light, but we don't want to have give up anything or be made uncomfortable. It's the same with Jesus. He is the word made flesh and the word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. To receive his blessings, we must follow him, and to follow him, we are told to deny ourselves and take up our cross. This causes us pain which we don't want. We want his blessings, but we don't want to experience any discomfort or have to give up our worldly pleasures.

Fortunately, our heavenly Father knew this, so in his wisdom, he made a way for us. He made the ultimate sacrifice, the life of his son, redeeming us to him. The blood of Christ gives us grace, so our sins are forgiven. Please understand, grace isn't merely a get out of hell free card. Grace is given, so we can seek God and not be condemned every time we sin. God does not look on sin. We are covered with the blood of Christ, so when he looks at us, he sees Christ and not our sin, so he can develop a relationship with us.

Rom 5:20 - 6:2 AKJV
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21 That as sin has reigned to death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

That's it, where there is sin, there is grace. Please understand, grace isn't given, so we can continue sinning. Matt 7:14 says, The gate is narrow and the way is hard, and few will find it.

God knew our flesh was be weak and we wouldn't obey his commandments, this is because of our carnal nature, which  we inherited from Adam. When we're following our carnal nature, we're feeding from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
God gave us grace, so that in our weakness, we could be redeemed to Him. God wants is a relationship with us.

Part of My Journey

Six and a half years ago, Sept 03, I became a child of God. Everything in the world was the same, but my life began to change. Not to say that things got easier, but my outlook on life and everything in it, changed. I learned that what we do is based on the spirits we allow in our lives, which create the thoughts in our minds. Like it says in Gal 6, if we sow to the flesh, we'll reap corruption, but if we sow to the Spirit, we'll reap eternal Life.

I thank God for what I've experienced, though I didn't enjoy it all, especially being homeless, a door was opened for me to move into a house owned by High Point Church, this is part of their ministry. I realize being homeless was my fault, I reaped what I'd sowed. I sowed to my flesh and my flesh left me out in the cold, without a place to live.

On a typical day in my life, this was BC, before Christ, I'd go to work and when I got home, I'd get high and this happened almost every day. Sundays and Wednesdays I'd go to church, but when I got home, I'd get high.  Do you see a pattern here?  I thought I was loving God and I thought I was saved, but I put getting high way ahead of God. I could love God, as long as I could still get high. Sundays and Wednesdays were for God, until I got home from church, then I'd get high. Check the verse below, it's about me, thank You Father God. By Your grace and Your Sons sacrifice, I am saved from death. Hallelujah!!!

Rom 7:24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from  this body of death?  (ESV)

When I moved into the High Point house, I quit getting high. How big is our God? At first, this was because I was in a house full of guys seeking the Lord and there was no opportune time to get high, but after a short time, my desire to get high was no more. Again I'll say it, how big is our GOD? I was being filled with the Spirit and learning Spiritual Truths.

There are a couple of times in my life that I thought I was saved.  Both were previous to me living at the High Point house and attending the High Point Church. Speaking with a brother the other day, I realized, at salvation, when my spirit was awakened to new life by the Holy Spirit, there should've been a noticeable change in my life, I mean, I should have started reading the Bible and praying, at least. Of course this didn't happen until I started going to High Point Church and began learning Spiritual Truth. I've since realized, I had a pretty big experience at my salvation. I remember having such a hunger for the Word of God and for His Spiritual Truth, so much so, that I got rid of my CD's, my books, and several of my t-shirts.

I love the Lord today, but I've realized the more you learn, the more your eyes are opened and the more your eyes are opened, the more sin you see in your life. Also,  the enemy will attack you with so much condemnation, you'll think you deserve all of the pain you've experienced.

Also, I have a greater understanding of what Paul was talking about in Rom 7:15. I want to do what God says, but I'm still sinning, how can this be? Thank You Father for Your grace, mercy, and love, and thank You for Your Son.

Rom 7:15 And I have no clear knowledge of what I am doing, for that which I have a mind to do, I do not, but what I have hate for, that I do. (BBE)

I hope this helps someone.
If this witnesses to you, then please share.
If you have questions, then please ask.
If I said something wrong or incorrect, please bring it to my attention.

Thanks and God bless.
