Become As Little Children

Jesus said we are to become as little children by humbling ourselves. He wants our trust, for us to trust him the way children trust their parents. It's easy to say we trust God, though it's difficult to do. Believing that he's taking care of everything and not allowing fear to cause doubt or making us look away from him. I consider myself very blessed to have my eyes opened to spiritual truth. Though, I believe the enemy has used this against me,  causing me to think I'm more than I am. I've exalted myself above others, above God. I don't ever want to think that I'm better than anyone. I just want to see God as my father and trust him that way, the way a child trusts his father. I want to love the way God loves, selflessly. I don't like the thoughts that have been in my mind, the ones I've allowed. God is my father and I choose to see him that way. I don't know what this will change, but God does. I don't know if this will bring me closer to him, I hope it will. I do know that God loves me, he loves all of us and if we look to him as our father, then that's a good beginning. We need to do what he says, as much as we can, then trust him to bring us into a closer relationship, knowing that he's gonna take care of everything.

Matt 18:1-6 (AKJV)
1 At the same time came the disciples to Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus called a little child to him, and set him in the middle of them,
3 And said, Truly I say to you, Except you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoever shall receive one such little child in my name receives me.
6 But whoever shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

In my thinking, to want to be the greatest, even in God's kingdom, borders on arrogance. Is that thought an attack from the enemy. I don't know, Jesus did say we have to humble ourselves as a child. This is an issue to me, I trust our Father to bring over it by his power and in Jesus' name. I know Jesus said if we want to come after him, then we must to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow him. That's another battle and lesson altogether.
